Children’s Books – The Lion King

Disney’s The Lion King
Adapted by Margo Hover
Drawn by Judy Barnes
Painted by Robbin Cuddy

This version of The Lion King is another one I found in my Student Teaching classroom.  I never got a chance to read it to my students, but I read through it myself and really enjoyed this version of the story.  It was very true to the movie plot and does an extra good job of pointing out the lessons that Simba learns.  One change that was made was that they had Scar fall to his death instead of being eaten by the hyenas, but I consider this a positive change for a children’s book. The color pictures are large and very well done.

If you would like to add Disney’s The Lion King to your library, you can buy it on Amazon.com here.
